In Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), sustainability is a key focus of our local business strategy.

In 2016 we developed a specific set of sustainability goals for ANZ, which bring together the power of our brands, operations and employees and guide the development of initiatives, practices and the ways we work together with our customers, consumers, partners and suppliers to ensure we’re looking after our world for generations to come.

The ANZ Sustainability update for 2019 reflects on our local performance in the fourth year of the Sustainability 2020 strategy. We are pleased to report that we have now met or surpassed all our targets including carbon reduction (set at 40%, currently at 62%) and our ambition to positively impact 1.2 million lives (tracking just under 1.3 million). We’ve also continued to divert nearly all our manufacturing waste, whilst working with groups such as APCO to reduce our plastics footprint.

But there’s a lot more to be done, and we are committed to innovating, investing and partnering to scale our positive impact in addressing these and other issues over the coming decade.

We look forward to sharing our new 2030 Sustainability Strategy with you later this year, but in the meantime, we encourage you to read our latest sustainability update here.
