How we’re brought into this world and the care we receive in the first few years of life is critical. By working with partners we can alleviate nappy stress and improve pregnancy, birth and early childhood outcomes for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
As Australia and New Zealand’s largest nappy brand, we’re committed to supporting the wellbeing of 1 million parents and young children across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific by 2030. We already support many families but to reach this ambitious target we’ll have to push ourselves, scale current programs and launch new ones. We’ll also be supporting a range of product-based and financial partnerships with some well-established charities including:
Plunket - Kimberly-Clark ANZ has been a proud partner of the Plunket program in New Zealand for over 28 years, and continues to support their core program as well as the South Auckland nappy bank, which sees product reaching some of the most impoverished and vulnerable communities in Aotearoa.
Australian Red Cross has been successfully working with the Yolgnu community in Galiwin'ku on Elcho Island, off the north coast of Darwin, for over 10 years. We’re proud to be supporting the island’s Baby Hub, where community leaders and Australian Red Cross staff work together to educate and improve pregnancy and birth outcomes, and reverse anaemia and growth faltering in children under two.
We continue to support Foodbank in Australia with product donations. Every year, we aim to reach 68,000 people directly – providing them with essential Kimberly-Clark products such as nappies. In times of crisis, we also step up and provide extra support – for example during the 2019/20 bushfire season, during which we supported communities across the country by donating 30 pallets (including 60,000 nappies) of our essential products.
We also support The Nappy Collective with product donations, and have given nearly 1 million nappies to this organisation since 2013.
In Papua New Guinea, we provide products and deliver education on the benefits of using wipes and nappies to local parents in community clinics. We also provide support to families with a 12 month donation of nappies and wipes for large multiple births across The Pacific Islands, to ensure the families can give their new editions the best care they deserve.
